Welcome To The Paintsville Golf Course
Established in 1929 the historic Paintsville Golf Course offers a unique and challenging golfing experience for the novice to the most skilled golfer. A true Kentucky original, the Paintsville Golf Course was one of the first 18-hole golf courses in Eastern Kentucky. The course design was the vision of Dr. Paul B. Hall, a member of the Kentucky Golf Association Hall of Fame, and brothers C. Mitchel Hall and Dr. Lon C. Hall. The front 9 of the course boasts rolling fairways and several elevation changes, while the back 9 proves to be quite a challenge with two lakes, each adding difficulty to your play. At some point you will cross our famous swinging bridge as two tee shots (hole #10 and hole #17) will need to carry the Big Sandy River. The Paintsville Golf Course is situated conveniently between the Paintsville Lake State Park and the Jenny Wiley State Park and just minutes off the US 23 Country Music Highway. StoneCrest Golf Course is a unique facility owned and operated by the City of Prestonsburg, located in Southeastern Kentucky. The course sits on 700 acres of mountain top land. The course offers amenities such as a pro shop, club repairs, practice green, driving range, clubhouse and lounge.
Built on a reclaimed strip mine, the course offers spectacular views of the surrounding mountains and valleys. The championship layout plays to a Par 72 and is over 7,000 yards long from the black tees. However, with four other sets of tee boxes the course is playable for all skill levels. Opened for play in 2001 the course is already recognized as one of the finest in Kentucky and has played host to both the Men’s and Women’s State Amateur Championships in its’ brief history.
